Pat confessions round 1

I am running out of confessions so this time I'll tell you some things about Pat

1. He won't leave the house unless his hair is washed.
2. He hates tomatoes
3. He loves scrapple but will only eat it if it is the brand Habbersett
4. He will drop everything to go help a friend in need
5. He is sooooo weird about fabrics. He hates things that are too soft. Today, I was sittng on the couch. One one side there was about 12 inches of space and on the other that couch was covered by a throw blanket we have. He choose to squeeze into the 12 inches rather then touch the blanket to move it because it is too soft.

Hopefully he won't get mad at me for sharing this, you'll know if I take it down in a few days

Convo

Sorry its been so long since I posted. I thought I would post a conversation Pat and I had that I thought was funny

Pat was playing his video game and I am on the couch
Me: Remember when we were first dating and you tried to convince me your video games aren't violent?
Pat: They aren't
Me: You just punched that guy's head off
Pat: No I bear clawed that guy's head off, there's a diference
Me: oh sorry, my bad thats not violent at all

The Great and Wonderful Love

Today, as part of the Primary Presidency, I spoke in church. We were asked to focus our talks on a general conference talk and try to only reference the Book of Mormon when using a scripture. I had an idea of what I wanted to talk about but I just couldn't seem to find the right talk to go along with it. So after a few days of looking, I settled on a talk from Elder Maxwell about children.
Saturday night came and it was time for me to get serious and start writing, but it just wasn't working for me. So I went back to my old idea and started rereading talks. Then I came across this talk by Elder Anthony Perkins of the quorum of the seventy and I was like "This is it!" It was exactly what I was looking for! Here is the link "The Great and Wonderful Love"

I also came across this while I was preparing, It has nothing to do with my talk but I think its cute. Anyone who has raised children or pets will understand "The Cat Years"

Pogs

I realize that Throw back Thursday ends in one hour so I will make this quick...
When Pat's Aunt came to visit, she dropped off a box of some of his old things. I moved it out of the kitchen yesterday when i was mopping and saw a container inside. I opened it to see if I was seeing things right...yep, inside there were POGS!!!

Do you guys remember them? I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade when those were popular. We would even play them during gym class. For those who don't remember, they were little carboard-lke circle with pictures on them. You would stack them up and take turns throwing the "slammer" at them. The ones that landed face up when it was your turn to throw the slammer, were yours. The game ended when there were no more left. The person with the most wins. You could either play for keeps or not.

Fun times! Now a days kids are all into electronics and video games. I am not sure that they would appreciate pogs. Sad.

Awesome April

New month means new showroom for shoedazzle!!!
Here are my favories for april

Royan- My mom bought this one for me for my birthday. I love it!!! I love the fringe and the color!

One of the trends I am noticing that I am gravitating towards this spring are colors and wedges
Lyla

Mykee

Suzie-this has got to be my favorite. I love wedges. I live the bright lime color and I like that it has a ankle strap for stability. The only think is that I have absolutely nothing to wear it with

Wilder-I am on he fence with this one, I like it but there is something that bugs me...maybe the shape of the wedge? I don't know

Georgette- I had to show this one from the back to show the bow. When it first came out, it came out in yellow and white but the next day those options just dissapeared. I was bummed cause I was gonna get the white one.

Darling- I am totally in love with this! The print is just so classic

Julia- Believe it or not, but I have been wanting a lower heel. I like this cause it is a classic. Black, small heal, pointy toe. And it is a "Signature Sole" so its got te pink sole

Lust- I need more sandals and I love these

Vogue- I have this shoe in Pewter which i love but I think every girl needs a classic nude pump

And of course I am broke and can't buy any of these, but a girl can dream. I might treat myself when I get my tax return back. If you want to treat yorself to an awesome pair of shoes, join shoedazzle using my link

Lancaster

Wednesnday, the family and I headed up to Lancaster. I had planned to wake up at 5:30am but I was just so dang tired! Pat and his goofy self kept me up til 2am the night before. I totally shut off my alarm in my sleep. I woke up and thought, "wow its light out really early this morning" then i was like "Oh shoot its light out!" It was 6:38, I was supposed to be at my parents at 6:30, cool. Luckily, I made the family only 15 minutes behind schedule. Our first stop was Herrs. I always love that tour! We saw the pretzels, tortilla chips and potato chips being made. We saw them being package and part of the warehouse. And the best part...we got to eat fresh chips right off the conveyer belt, still hot! Yum!! The tour is free and I suggest it to anyone and everyone. While we were there, we learned that Mr. Herr had just passed away the week before. He had pneumonia and it was expected, but still sad
Next stop was Lititz for the Wilbur chocolate factory. They dont do tours or anything, but mom is obsessed with thier stuff. Its really the only chocolate she uses for baking. She bought a 10 pound bar while we were there. After Wilbur we hit up Shady Maple Smorgasboard. In my opinion it is hands sown the BEST buffet in the world! Our family will always go out of our way to eat there. The last stop and the reason for the trip was Living Waters Theater to see Jonah. Living Waters is a theater that puts on very elaborate plays about different bible stories. We have seen several of their plays and loved them. Jonah is thier newest and is only featured for one season. I was curious as to how they were going to show the whale. They did a great job. The sets and costumes are always amazing. Will and I we close to getting hit in the head by the whale!
Will and I outside the theater, Those are my dad's hands
The ceiling inside Overall it was a great day trip. My favorite part was being able to spend quality time with the family

Chicken Cordon Bleu

What's for dinner tonight? I really wanted to put a frozen pizza in the oven and take a nap, but since I hadn't been home for dinner in almost two weeks, I decided to make my hubby dinner. After checking the fridge to find out what I had that needed to be used up I decided to make Chicken Cordon Bleu. In the past, I had just wrapped a chicken breast around a mozzerella cheese stick and ham, put it n the oven and done. This time I did it a little differently. I didn't have full chicken breasts. I had chicken tenders, like half a chicken breast. So i cut the cheese sticks into thirds so it was the same width of the chicken. I wrapped them as usual but then coated it in melted butter then in bread crumbs. Throw that in the oven at 350F. I found a recipe for a sauce to go with it but I did it differently than the recipe. They said to heat up a can of cream of chicken soup wih half a cup of sour cream and two tablespoons of lemon juice. Then drizzle it over the cooked chicken. I didn't hav any lemon juice and i only had a little bit of sour cream. After the chicken had been in the oven for 30 minutes, I mixed half a can of cream of chicken soup and the little bit of sour cream that I had. I put it in around the chicken in the pan and put it back in the oven for 15 more minutes.
I must say it was pretty dang good! Patrick, who really isn't a fan of chicken, asked for seconds, so I know this was a success. I liked that they were smaller than usual. And the sauce made the chicken more tender and flavorful. I totally recomend this. I like when I stray a little from recipe and the food turns out great. That isn't always the case. Enjoy :)

4 years

Throwback Thursday!!! As of yesterday, Pat and I have been together for 4 years! Ths pic was taken the summer after we started dating. It is the only picture I have of us outside of our wedding. How sad is that? Pat is not a picture person

Birthday weekend

Friday, I turned 22 years old. Every year, I seem to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to my birthday. This year I decided to no expectations. All I really wanted was a card from Pat and dinner with my family. Thats all I wanted and needed and I got soooo much more!!! A friend of mine, Becky, brought her kids to work and dropped off some cupcakes for me on Wednesday. Her son Bradley made me some colorful eggs. Pat ate them before I thought to take a pic, but they were cute!
Some friends from church, Jen and Lori, invited me to a birthday brunch on Thursday. We went to The Breakfast Spot. Its a tiny place on the bay in Somers Point. I had never been before but it was great! I know that I am young and I don't have any kids but I am glad that they include me in their circle and dont think of me as the annoying little girl that hangs around. They had bought me a little gift. When pulled it out, I put it on the table thinking it was a two piece bunny.
I looked back in the bag for the head in all the tissue paper but there was nothing else in there. Confused, I asked, "um, does it have a head?" I picked it up and realized that I was looking at it totally wrong. I felt really dumb
They also gave me a gift card with which I bought a pillow for the couch and the cutest salt and pepper shaker
Friday, my actual birthday, I worked in the morning. My boss' husband and son called to tell me happy birthday. Pat's mom stopped in to see me an drop off a card too. After work and running some errands, I sat down on the bed and with in minutes I was asleep. Audra called and woke me up thankfully! Normally when I nap, I set an alarm but I didn't intend on napping. We had a good chat! I love my sister and am excited to go out to idaho. We had Voltaco's subs for dinner at my Mom's. Voltacos is a tiny italian place in Ocean City. Its take out only and their cheese steaks are the BEST!!!! Mom made a pound cake for me. After dinner, mom, Will, Paul and I took a nice walk around the neighborhood. It has been so long since I went on a family walk. I've missed it. Saturday night, I went out with a girlfriend for High School, Abby. We went to Famous Daves cause I had a buy one get one free coupon. It was great to catch up with her and hear how she is doing. During dinner, I started to tell her how I was kinda annoyed with Pat. All I had asked for from him was a card and he had totally ignored it. I was feeling hurt. And of course when I got home that night, Pat had a card waiting for me on my pillow. The little punk didn't forget but he wanted me to think he did, the little bugger. On Sunday, the primary kids sang to me :) And the presidency gave me a nice picture frame and flowers.
Monday, my boss made me a cake. I didn't think to take a picture before digging in. Overall I must say, this has been one of my All Time Best Birthdays!!!! Iam so greatful to have such wonderful friends and family!!!

AC Rodeo

Friday night, Dad, Will, Paul and I went to the rodeo in Atlantic City. It was a lot of fun! There were a few cowboys from Utah that did crazy well!! The NJ ones kinda stunk...
My cowboy boots :)
The boys
During the steer roping (when the cowboy lasos a steer and then ties the legs up), a little girl behind us cried to her dad, "Daddy why did you bring me here? This is so sad" During the steer wrestling (when the coboy jumps off his running horse and tackles a steer to the ground) only one person actually did it. Will and I were getting bored; Dad even fell asleep. We were watching the steers waiting in the makeshift pen. One was a little rambuncious. The cowboy standing in the pen had to jump out cause it kept trying to ram him. Then it started attacking the fence and almost broke through. We were excited when it was that steer's turn. It ran for a second and just stopped and the cowboy just kept running. Smart little guy!
