“Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.”
― Eckhart Tolle

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
― Lao Tzu

“You're always you, and that don't change, and you're always changing, and there's nothing you can do about it.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book

“When people are ready to, they change. They never do it before then, and sometimes they die before they get around to it. You can't make them change if they don't want to, just like when they do want to, you can't stop them.”
― Andy Warhol, Andy Warhol in His Own Words

Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don't.”
― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

“I have accepted fear as part of life – specifically the fear of change... I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: turn back....”
― Erica Jong

I am not really a fan of change. There have been a lot of times that I wanted a change but when it comes down to it, I don't want to follow through. But some change is inevitable. When change actually happens, I adjust rather well/quickly. I think the thing I really love and hate about change is the unknown. I look forward to change because I don't know exactly what will happen. I can fantasize about the best, most perfect senarios. So I look forward to those changes, hoping that the things I dream of come true. Then when the change approaches for real, I realize that the chances of my fantasies coming to life are unlikely and I begin to fear the change, not knowing what is going to happen. Once the change occurs, I realize that it really isn't so bad and I get comfortable and begin to dream of the next big step.

The change that has recently happened is a promotion at work. I start tomorrow as an assistant manager in a different store. I had been ready for a change at work for awhile, But now that it is happening I am kind of scared. It is a lot more responsibility. I don't know anyone I will be working with. I have met and spoken with a few of my new co-workers but I really dont know them. I am young and worry that people won't take me seriously as an assistant manager. The store is set up differently than what I am used to. And it is a long drive from my house in a town I know nothing about. I know that there will be traffic going there but I don't know how bad it gets. I am scared I will be late a lot because i timed the commute wrong. And I worry that the friends I have made at my other store will forget about me, not include me in their get-togethers because they don't see, talk to, or work with me much anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I am excited to be promoted! And I know that it is something that Pat and I need. And I know I will do just fine and everything will work out they way that it is supposed to. I am just in the "freak out" stage of this change. One good thing is that this major change brings me one step closer to making the next major life change that I am most excited for...a baby. Pat an I want to wait until we are on our feet financially and have some savings. This promotion almost doubles what I am currently making and brings us one step closer to our financial goals.

My sister is due to have a baby boy in just 5 days. How crazy is that? This will be my first nephew and the famiy is very excited. The picture above shows Audra's mothering at an early age. She is feeding me water with a spoon. That is what gave my mom the idea that I might be ready for solids

I love you Audra and I know you will be a great mom and I can't wait to meet the little guy!

New Computer

I have been wanting a new computer for a while now but have put it off because it was a want not a need. My computer has been super annoying for awhile. My keys don't all register. Just read a few of my blogs that I forgot to reread and you will see a bunch of missing letters. My CD/DVD drive broke over a year ago. It just spits out any cd I put in there immediately without trying to read it. I have an external DVD drive so I can watch movies ect. The button on my mouse pad is shot. And the right hidge has been slowing coming apart for over a year. Each of these things are annoying but I have been able to ignore them and dealt with it
Well the time has come that I may need to finally get a new computer. My hindge has jst about had it. All that is holdng my screen and computer together is a few wires

I really dont think it is going to last much longer so its time to start saving for a new computer. But I have no clue what I want, Desktop vs Laptop, Mac vs windows...

Desktop Pros
-Pat can fix
-Pat can build relatively cheap

-Stuck in one room

Laptop Pros
-Can take it anywhere, plane, kitchen, bed, livingroom...

-Pat can't easily fix problems
-more expensive

Windows Pros
-Pat can fix
-I know how to work them

-breaks often

Mac Pros
-Doesn't break often
-looks nice

-never used one
-Pat doesn't use or know how to fix

What do you guys think? Any opinions?

Round 37

I figured it was time for some more confessions

1. I am good at keeping other people's secrets, but I have a hard time keeping my own, especially if its somthing I am excited about

2. I hate when people ask me when we are having kids. Not because I don't want kids yet but the opposite. I want kids very badly but we are not in a place where we can have kids yet.

3. I often forget to wear deoderant, luckily I work at cvs where we sell it

4. I think if I ever started to really gamble, I wouldn't be able to stop, I'd become an adict that gets themselves in major debt

5. I have big feet, size 10

Having a cold is the worst! Part of me would rather be throwing up sick then have a cold sick. When you are vomiting, you don't need to go to work. You don't need to get out of bed. You don't have to make dinner. But when you have a cold you still have to do everything like normal except you feel like crap.

If you haven't figured this out yet, I have a cold. It started with a major sore throat Tuesday which continued into Wednesday. Wednesday also added a small ear ache. Thursday had the sore throat, ear and started a stuffy/runny nose.

Last night was the worst. My nose was litterally dripping (gross I know) but I couldn't breathe through it at all. So anoying. I couldn't sleep at all. I was worried about some work stuff and the fact that I couldn't breathe didn't help. So I started reading my book from my book club. I also finished it last night. Didn't fall asleep til 4am. But not from lack of trying. I just kept giving up on sleeping after laying in bed awake for a half hour so I would read until I couldn't keep my eyes open and try to go to sleep. Then after another half hour awake, I'd go back to reading. I finished the 300+ page book.

Today, the nose is even worse. The sore throat isn't as bad. But my face hurts so bad, my cheeks. I think its from scrunching my face when I sniffle.

I miss being able to breathe through my nose

Tuna Rice Casserole

What's for dinner tonight?

Tuna Rice Casserole

I hate seafood, all of it, shrimp, crab, fish, lobster. But for some reason I have always loved this. It's my dad's favorite meal but my mom doesn't like it so we didn't have it too much growing up but everytime we did, I was excited. Pat is very iffy when it comes to tuna, but he wanted seconds so its a win! Maybe your family will like it too

1/2 cup of milk
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of tuna
1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard
2 cups of cooked rice (minute rice works just fine)
1/4 up of crushed potato chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Mix together milk and mushroom soup.
Stir in tuna, dry mustard, cooked rice and cheese.
Pour into an uncovered casserole dish and sprinkle crushed potato chips on top.
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes

Enjoy :)

I have had a rough few weeks, emotionally, mentally and physically. So I finally decided to let myself spend some me time shopping. Like a little kid, I saved up my babysitting money and went shopping. I had a 20% off everything coupon for Khols and for every $50 i spent I got $10 Khol's cash to spend the next day

Originally $24, I got it for $4.80. I couldn't pass it up because it describes me perfectly

This skirt was originally $70 and I got it for $35

The sweater was originally $44 and I got it for $13.20 and I was so excited to get a pair of mint colored pants :) They were originally $40 and I got them for $20.

This is one of my favorites! It was originally $40 and I got it for $20

I found this left in the dressing room. It was my style, my size and from the clearance rack, Score for me. Originally $44 I got it for $17.60 The back is cut out and lacy

I got a cute dress too but when I tried it on again when I got home, I realized it was just a little bit too short. I took it back the next day and got curtains for our living room instead.

DISCLAIMER: This is another TMI post but it made me laugh. You don't need to read it if you are offended by bodily functions.

This is Pat's way of telling me that the trash in the bathroom needs to be emptied. He is in the bathroom getting out of the shower. I am in bed trying to nap

Pat: When are you going to get rid of your period debris?

long pause while I try to ignore him

Pat: Before we get Vampires?

Ariel's Grotto

Happy Throwback Thursday!!! I know I forgot last week, well I didn't really forget, I was just too lazy...but I am doing one this week!!!

This is from when I was in either third, fourth or fifth grade. We went on a family vacation to Disney World. Mom read somewhere about a new Little Mermaid ride called Ariel's Grotto. We were all excited and go in a HUGE line to wait. We were litterally waiting over an hour. When we finally got to the front of the line, we realized that it was not a ride at all. It was a photo opt. We waited an hour in line to take a picture?! ugh!! So it better be an amazing picture right? If you click the picture you can see it bigger in all its glory.

The dang thing didn't even turn out!!!!! And yes, Will is pointing a gun at the camera

Marvelous May

New month means new shoedazzle showroom! Shoedazzle has gone through some changes that has gotten several customers all in a tizzy.

1. They did away with the monthly fee. Yay!!! No longer do you need to worry about skipping the month before the right date. That is a good thing.

2. They changed from shipping UPS to FedEx. Shipping is still free both ways. Many are complaining that FedEx is slower. But seeing as I am all the way in Jersey and the warehouse is in California, it will take a long time either way.

3. They changed the way that they measure their heel heights. They now measure from the back of the heel. A lot of people are upset about this because they say the proper way to measure a heel is from the side in the middle of the heel. It doesn't bother me at all because I have always measured from the back.

4. They have done away with Dazzle Deals. Before, every Tuesday and Thursday a new Dazzle Deal would go on sale. They were still $39.95 and would only be available for 48 hours or until they were sold out. Dazzle Deal items could be anything from Travel on Luggage, to a nice hair dryer to a workout outfit. Now they have every item that would have been a dazzle deal available on the site at all times under different tabs. Again this doesn't really affect me either way. I like being able to see them, but I don't think I would buy them.

5. Almost every shoe available is a giant heel. So many people are upset at this but I like my heels high

6. This is really the only one that upset me. They addad a new section called the "Socialite" boutique. Items in this boutique range from $39.95 to $49.95. They raised the dang prices! but just these items. I complained on their facebook page and someone from the company responded saying it was because these items had more detailed stitchings and were of better quality

Dispite all these changes, I still love shoedazzle. These are the shoes I am loving on this month

Elizabeth- I bought these! I love the pop of color. Surprisingly I don't have any pink shoes! i love the structure of it. I ts so different then what you see on a day to day basis

Frances- This would be a great neutral go to sandal for summer

Hope- I love the colors! Its just a fun summer shoe

Myrna- I would never get this, but I think the look is cool and different

Tatianna- These are part of the "Socialite" Boutique, but they are still 39.95 They remind me so much of my red Ruthies that I love so much but they are of a cobalt blue suede material. I still have not been able to get my hands on a great cobalt blue heel that I want so badly

Solara- The new "Signature Sole" I love a great neutral heel. I love the pink sole and most of all I love the ankle strap!! It just makes it so much more secure!

Veara- Obviously not a shoe but I think it would be a super cute cover up. I love the look of jumpsuits but I am always afraid that they won't fit because I am tall

What do you think of these styles? Want to see more? Click here to join and get 20% off your first order, and remember with no monthly fee, there is no reason not to sign up!!!
