Round 41 and a diagnosis

Its been forever since I did a blog post. Sorry

1. I turn the channel when ever a commerical for the stupid Hunny Boo Boo show comes on
2. I sleep with three pillows
3. I have not gone to the beach or boardwalk at all this summer
4. We will celebrate our one year anniversary in less then two weeks, but I have yet to change my name
5. I am craving a corn dog right now

Good news, My grandmother has finally been diagnosed! It took forever but doctors finaaly figured out exactly what the problem is. She has been diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR). The onset can be sudden. It effects the muscles and joints making them stiff and difficult to move. It also causes fatigue, stiffness and pain, making it difficult to function. It can also cause mental decline. This explains A LOT!!! Why, out of no where, she can't walk or move and would scream if you touched her and why she was so confused all the time. Her doctor started her on medication a few weeks ago. And she has improved so much in those past few weeks. I noticed a change but didn't know that it was because of the meds. She will be starting physical therapy again. And because there is a diagnosis, her insurance will take up the $12,000 a month tab! And if she continues to improve, it is possible that she might be able to move to the assisited living apartments at The Shores! So lots of good news!

Oct 2004

Happy Throwback Thursday!!! This week I had to dig through my 72 hour kit to find something I haven't needed in years and thought I might have stored in there and while I was looking I came across this

Teen People from October 2004! Orlando Bloom was my first and only celebrity crush. I guess that is why I felt the need to store it away when I was 14 in case of emergency. Haha. I am totally leaving it in there, but I am going to update everything else and put one together another one for Pat

This is the first year that I have actually really gotten into the Olympics. I watched the opening ceremonies and thought that I probably wouldn't watch anything else (like usual), but one night, there was nothing else on so I turned to the Olympics on NBC. They were showing both swimming races and the women's team gymnasics. I got so into it and have been hooked since. Everytime I am home I have it on. Swimming, diving, beach volleyball, gymnastics, tennis and track and feild are some of my favorites to watch.
It amazes me to think how much time energy and dedication it takes to get to the point they are at. But some of them are legit crazy.I heard on one commentary that one of the women in track chose to not have her nails painted during the Olympics so there would be no extra weight. I mean come on that is ridiculous!!! My favorite part is watching the faces of the moms as they see their child win. I cant even imagine how proud they must feel.

Awesome August

Its that time again, new shoedazzle showroom. And yet again, shoedazzle has thrown in some curveballs and made some changes
1. Mixing in some $29.95 prices to go along with the regular $39.95 and the higher prices they added earlier.
2. No longer a free shipping option on all orders. If your order is less than $39.95, you must pay shipping
3. Sales Tax
Not going to lie, I am starting to get irritated with them, but I do love me some shoes at a reasonable price so I dont know what I will wind up doing. Anyway on to the shoes...

I have seen some trends coming this fall that are reflected in these shoes.
1. Menswear

2. Ankle straps (which I love)

3. Cap toes

4. Pointy toes (Again, I love. There is nothing sexier than a pointy toed stiletto)

Dina- I like both colors

Liv- I included a flat! Shocking I know, but I dont wear heels all the time

Party-$29.95 This one is a like a causual version of Liv

Gina- I like this style, but I am not 100% sold on the colors

Carine- one word...Classic

Jennilynn- This shoe intrigues me

Stormi-hehe Crazy but I like it

Leigh- $44.95 I love these! I love that they are flat. I have so many heeled boots. And I love that they are over the knee and casual.

Mikayla- $49.95 This is where I get knittpicky (is that a word?) To make this shoe perfect...1. get rid of the wedge, make it a flat. 2. Make the fringe not so wide. 3. have the top layer of fringe parallel to the top of the boot rather than angled. 4. Give an option for black. 5. Lower the dang price! If my sugestions 1-4 were followed, I might just pay 50 but as is now, no way

Pop Pop

Today would have been my grandfather's 87th birthday

I have many fond memories of my grandfather. I remember him picking me up from preschool and taking me to see Mom mom (his mother, my great grandmother) in the nursing home. In 6th grade, he took me with him to a WW2 Veterans tour of Europe. We spent a lot of time in Germany where I bought a traditional German hat identical to this
Except that it didnt come with a feather. The feathers that they would sell wwere crazy expensive but I really wanted one. When we came home, he drove me all over Ocean City where he knew birds went a lot just to find a feather with me. Afterwards, we went to CVS to get the candy, DOTS, that was both of our favorites. I remember back in 5th grade when I played clarinet in the elementry school's band, one of our concerts was on the same night as my brother's concert for the High School Choir. My parents and grandmother both went to see my brother. Looking back, I certainly don't blame them. I would much rather listen to people singing nicely then hearing a bunch of 10/11 year olds who have only had an instrument for a few months try to play all together. But at the time, I was really upset that no one was going to see me. But Pop Pop went.
He was truely the best grandfather a girl could ask for. Happy Birthday Pop Pop! You are truely missed!
